Kicking Off a Milestone Season
New York City FC (NYCFC) is set to celebrate a decade of soccer as the 2025 MLS regular season marks the Club’s 10th anniversary. Fans can anticipate an exciting lineup of games and a look back at some of NYCFC’s most memorable moments.
Starting Strong on the Road
The ‘Boys in Blue’ will begin their 2025 campaign with two road matches. The season opener is against Inter Miami CF on Saturday, February 22, at 2:30 PM ET, followed by a clash with LAFC on Saturday, March 1, at 10:30 PM ET.
Returning to Yankee Stadium
NYCFC will host their first home match on Saturday, March 8, against Orlando City SC at 7:30 PM. This game commemorates the 10-year anniversary of both clubs’ inaugural MLS match in 2015, which ended in a 1-1 draw.
Celebrating the First Home Victory
The celebrations continue on March 15 when NYCFC faces the New England Revolution at Yankee Stadium at 7:30 PM. This match marks the 10-year anniversary of NYCFC’s first home win, a 2-0 triumph over New England in 2015. Since then, the Club has built an impressive 7-2-1 record in home openers.
A Season Across Two Boroughs
NYCFC will split their 16 home matches between 11 games at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx and five at Citi Field in Queens. Fans can look forward to the Hudson River Derby returning to Citi Field on May 17 at 4:30 PM and a home match against Inter Miami CF on September 24 at 7:30 PM.
Home Decision Day Match
The regular season will close with a Decision Day match against the Seattle Sounders. The venue for this game will be determined based on the MLB playoffs, ensuring an exciting end to the season.
CEO Brad Sims Reflects on NYCFC’s Legacy
Reflecting on the Club’s 10-year journey, CEO Brad Sims shared, “Ten years ago, our great Club played their first-ever match in Major League Soccer and created some incredible moments in New York City and MLS history. From our first matches back in 2015 to winning MLS Cup in 2021, it has been a wonderful first decade in our history. We cannot wait to get the 2025 season started as we kick off our second decade in MLS and see our fans at Yankee Stadium and Citi Field this year.”
