After entering the NBA in 1999 as the number five overall draft pick, Jonathan Bender soon realized that a painful growth spurt he suffered during childhood was haunting him. Desperate to take pressure off his knees, he engineered his own apparatus using a few supplies he picked up at a drugstore. Through trial and error, he successfully created a series of bands running from his waist down to his Achilles tendon, all attached by a harness and stirrup. The prototype proved to resolve Jonathan’s persistent knee pain, which enabled him—after four years of forced retirement—to return to the league and resume playing.

Now fully developed, tested and available to the masses as the JBIT MedPro, this device complements medical rehabilitation, physical therapy and fitness regimens by providing relief of chronic joint pain. Jonathan himself continues to use it today to maintain full-body fitness.
